There will be a Jigsaw Puzzle Festival at Bitterne URC (above Iceland in Bitterne Precinct) from Monday 26th to Saturday 31st October, 10am to 4pm (7pm on Thursday). Hundreds of puzzles will be on display and available to buy. Admission is £1.50, including a free drink and permitting free return during the week. Accompanied children are free.

Please note that there will be no Coffee Morning on the third Saturday of October or November. In December there will be a table top sale, and the Christmas Tree Festival on the Saturdays before Christmas.

If you read Connections you will realise that our friends at Freemantle URC will celebrate the 130th anniversary of the start of their fellowship, at their 9.30am service on Sunday 14th June, when they are also hosting the
Salvation Army. The first building was on the corner of Shirley Road and Roberts Road, but after it was destroyed by bombing in the Second World War the fellowship rebuilt on their present site in the 1950s. Please hold their fellowship in your prayers, as we wish them all the very best this month.

How about sparing a little time to pray with us? We meet on the third Wednesday of each month (except August) in the new Vestibule Room, from 7pm to 8pm. We spend time listening to one another, giving thanks for things that have happened, and bringing concerns to be prayed for. If you cannot join us this month, why not pray for all or some of the following?

  •  Conflict situations around the World
  •  The needs of members of our congregation
  •  Our young people, and our local schools, at the start of a new academic year
  •  Church growth, including continuing to build a positive mindset to respond to the opportunities that God brings us, as individuals, as a congregation and as a group
  •  For all those who minister here

If you would like those meeting to pray for a concern or issue that you have, then you can always let Tim or myself know.

Do not forget our annual South West Hants Group Anniversary service, on Sunday 24th May 2015, at Freemantle URC starting at 6pm, but preceded by a “bring and share tea” from 5pm. Please support this event, and our guest preacher, Rev. George Watt, one of our former ministers. I would remind you that this will be a lighter evening, and that transport can be arranged for those who might have difficulty getting there. Please let me know if you would like a lift: it would be great to have a good attendance by Isaac Watts’ folk on this occasion.
